Signs to watch for

When it's time to call about storm damage roofing

  • Shingles in the yard or driveway. Wind has lifted or torn them loose.
  • Dents on gutters, vents or downspouts. A common sign of hail.
  • New leaks after heavy rain. Even small openings let water travel under the shingles.
  • Fallen limbs on or near the roof. Impact damage can hide under debris.

Chase is exceptional! He is very knowledgeable, friendly, and a pleasure to work with. He came out to inspect damage to my mom’s home after a large oak tree that fell on it during a recent storm. My mom used another company to place a tarp on the house and that was a mistake. They tried to charge her $1,600 (after she was quoted $500 on the phone) for an inadequate and rushed job (they spent about 40 minutes total to perform their inspection and place the tarp and were annoyed when I asked for them to get back on the roof to blow off some of the tree debris they were going to leave). Working with Chase is a breath of fresh air. He is very caring and genuinely wants to help people. He did not have to do this, but he took time out of his busy day to help us fix the tarp that was not put on right while he was on the roof inspecting all the damage. He also inspected the damage from inside the attic, something the other company that placed the tarp did not care to do. He spent almost 3 hours with us and really appreciated that he wants to help us navigate this difficult situation. He performed a very thorough inspection, took detailed photos of all the damage, clearly explained all his findings, and was very easy to communicate with. I am extremely grateful I found him. It is hard to find good people like Chase. I also love that Chase owns this local and independent business that is not affiliated with a greedy corporation. I highly recommend First Response Home Services and am so thankful for everything Chase did for us!

I had an outstanding experience with First Response Home Services. Chase did an excellent job throughout the entire process, keeping me informed every step of the way and taking the time to educate me on what to expect. He worked closely with my insurance company, ensuring that all aspects of my roof repair were properly documented and covered, which made the process much less stressful. In addition to the exceptional customer service, the quality of the roof replacement exceeded my expectations. The work was completed quickly, professionally, and with great attention to detail. The crew was efficient, and the finished roof looks fantastic. I highly recommend First Response Home Services, and especially Chase, to anyone needing roof repair or replacement. Their communication, professionalism, and commitment to customer satisfaction truly set them apart.

Will my insurance cover storm damage?

Your insurance company decides what’s covered. What we can do is inspect the roof, document any storm damage with clear photos and explain what we found, so you can have an informed conversation with your adjuster.

Can wind damage my roof even if no shingles are missing?

Yes. After strong wind, lifted edges, broken seals, displaced flashing and damage around roof openings can be hard to see from the ground.

Photograph anything unusual, note when the storm happened and stay off the roof. We can inspect and document the condition, then explain whether it points to repair, monitoring or ordinary wear.

How soon after a storm should I have my roof checked?

Sooner is better, especially if you’ve noticed leaks, missing shingles or dents on gutters and vents. Small openings can let water in during the next rain. If water is coming in now, call us first.

What does hail damage look like on shingles?

Dark spots where granules have been knocked loose, soft bruises, cracks and dents on metal vents or gutters. It’s often invisible from the ground, which is why we photograph what we find.
